摘要
Achievements in genetic engineering of vector insects have raised hopes for their use as public health tools. To evaluate the potential value of genetically manipulated (GM) vectors, the authors propose that a series of important preliminary studies must be conducted. Practical next steps in developing these studies are also discussed.
