Adsorption assisted desorption in catalytic cycles

摘要
Adsorption assisted desorption is an important phenomenon in catalytic cycles. It takes place when a desorption step is not equilibrated. The surface concentration or fugacity of the desorbing species can be higher than its equilibrium value because of a preceding adsorption step in the catalytic cycle. This results in an increased rate of desorption. Qualitative and quantitative examples of this effect are discussed. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
