Theoretical study of heat transfer by radiation conduction and convection in a semi-transparent porous medium in a cylindrical enclosure

摘要
In this paper, numerical solutions are presented for the radiation effect on heat transfer by simultaneous convection conduction and radiation about a semi-transparent cylindrical porous medium. The set of differential equations are solved using a fourth-order finite difference method. Various results are obtained for the dimensionless temperature profiles in the solid and fluid phases of the radiative and total heat fluxes. The effects of some radiative properties of the medium on the heat transfer rate are examined. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
