摘要
The feasibility of treating acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin manufacturing wastewater by Fenton oxidation treatment was investigated. The experiments were conducted in six different operating modes. For all tests, total dosage of ferrous (Fe(2+)) salt and hydrogen peroxide (H(2)O(2)) was kept at 2000 mg L(-1) and 4000 mg L(-1), respectively and the total reaction time was maintained at 160 min. The kinetics of the decomposition of organic matter in terms of dissolved chemical oxygen demand (DCOD) by H(2)O(2) followed the pseudo-first order reaction. For DCOD decomposition, the removal rate constant equation of DCOD, k(1) = 2.95 x 10(-6)[H(2)O(2)](0)(0.17)[Fe(2+)](0)(1.60) was obtained, where k(1) is the reaction rate coefficient of DOCD decomposition. The consumption rate constant equation of H(2)O(2), k(2) = 1.85 x 10(-3)[H(2)O(2)](0)(-1.70)[Fe(2+)](0)(2.90) was obtained, where k(2) is the reaction rate coefficient of hydrogen peroxide consumption. Batch and semi-batch studies indicated that oxidation with Fenton's reagent is feasible for treating ABS wastewater. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
