摘要
Ferroelastic domain formation in thin films of rhombohedral La1-xSrxMnO, (LSMO), coherently grown on (001) or (011) oriented SrTiO3 (STO), is suggested to occur during film deposition at elevated temperatures, unlike other common perovskite films where structural phase transition and domain formation take place only during cooling. Due to a comparatively small lattice parameter misfit, the LSMO/STO system should be an ideal case for the experimental observation of domain formation without additional strain relaxation effects including misfit dislocation formation.
