摘要
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) or boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) are expensive and technologically demanding to produce in bulk. Halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) that form in natural deposits are potential alternative. These nanotubes are ideal for applications involving loading because the external (tetrahedral sheet) and internal (octahedral sheet) HNT surfaces differ, offering scope for chemical control of preferential internal, rather than external, loading of desired components.
