摘要
This short overview of a large and diverse activity in multifunctional materials aims to highlight the wide spectrum of opportunities available for the design of revolutionary material systems. Although it is too early to predict the impact of the various technologies and approaches investigated in this program, h is clear that multifunctionality is an enabling step in optimally designing each material system for its intended use.
