摘要：

The goal of antiviral treatment of chronic hepatitis B is to prevent cirrhosis, hepatic decompensation, hepatocellular carcinoma, and death. To determine the efficacy of antiviral treatment in preventing these clinical outcomes, intermediate surrogate biochemical, virologic, serologic, and histologic end points have been used. Taken together, these end points can help to guide the effectiveness of therapy. This article reviews the current end points of chronic hepatitis B treatment, including the development of antiviral resistance as a complication and failure of treatment.
