摘要：

In contrast to acute gouty arthritis, the lowering of blood uric acid in chronic tophaceous gout often does not result in permanent remission [ 1, 2]. Although treatment with glucocorticoids or colchicine has been described as effective in some patients [3-4] no other established therapy for chronic tophaceous gout is available. However, as TNF-alpha is induced in monocytes by the uptake of urate crystals [5], TNF-Inhibitors theoretically might be a further treatment option.
