摘要
An overview is given of the important role that 1O2 plays in the field of peroxide chemiluminescence (CL). In such chemiluminescent peroxide systems, either singlet oxygen acts as the direct emitter or it constitutes the oxidant to mediate light emission, presumably through an interdisciplinary dioxetane. The numerous light-generating systems are presented and their mechanisms scrutinized. Furthermore, the advantages of the CL method for singlet-oxygen detection and quantification are addressed. Focus is on reactions in which the singlet oxygen has been originally generated in the liquid phase.
