摘要
Al4C3 particles in mechanically alloyed Al-0.25wt%C-10vol%TiO2 increased their average length from 72 to 132 nm and width from 14 to 27 nm in 504 at 600 °C. The cube of their equivalent radius increased linearly with time up to 504 h at 600 °C but the observed volumetric rate was about an order of magnitude faster than predicted from bulk diffusion controlled coarsening kinetics. The marked reduction in the coarsening rate observed for heat treatment times>504 h at 600 °C was attributed to the relocation of most Al4C3 particles into the matrix in which dislocation density has been reduced.
