On the molar mass dependence of the thermal diffusion coefficient of polymer solutions

摘要
The problem of molar mass dependence of the thermal diffusion coefficient in polymer solutions was investigated. It was found that all the measurements were carried out on PS in toluene. It was observed that the molar mass independence of the thermal diffusion coefficient broke down under two conditions. The results show that the molar mass dependence approximately vanished at an intermediate concentration of c ≈ 0.4 where the effect of increasing DTO and decreasing DT due to increased friction almost compensated for all molar masses.
