Non-Fermi-liquid behaviour in U2Pt2In

摘要
Specific-heat c(T) data taken on single-crystalline samples of the heavy-electron material U2Pt2In show that c proportional to - T In T in the temperature interval 0.1-6 K, which classifies U2Pt2In as a non-Fermi-liquid (NFL) material. Further support for a NFL ground state is provided by electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility data. Absence of weak-magnetic ordering is confirmed by mu SR experiments. The location of U2Pt2In close to the magnetic/non-magnetic border line in a Doniach-type phase diagram suggests that a quantum phase transition is at the origin of the NFL behaviour. However, a Kondo-disorder scenario cannot be excluded. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
