Local structure and dynamics of high temperature SrO-Al2O3 liquids studied by 27Al NMR and SrK-edge XAS spectroscopy

摘要
In situ spectroscopic studies of liquid oxides at temperatures greater than 2000 degreesC remain challenging experiments but provide a unique opportunity to better understand their physical properties. Aerodynamic levitation, combined with laser heating, has been conducted with NMR or XAS spectroscopy to obtain the characterisation of local structure and dynamics of very high temperature liquids of the SrO-Al2O3 binary system. We present and discuss results obtained using time resolved Al-27 NMR in the range 1800(.)2300 degreesC for seven different compositions and the first results obtained by Sr K-edge XAS for the SrO-Al2O3 binary system.
