摘要
In Japan, over 60% of traffic accident fatalities are the result of vehicle collisions with pedestrians/bicyclists and intersection collisions. These accident types are difficult to prevent using vehicle based technology alone. In order to help reduce such accidents in the real world, technology with the potential for relatively easy actualization and wide deployment is important as well as the system performance. We have to consider making use existing equipment and equipment that is available to almost everyone. This paper describes safety support systems which are actualized or being actualized in Japan for those kinds of accident types. (C) 2011 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
