The formation of periodic structures under pulsed UV-laser ablation of stretched polymers

摘要
The theory of non-coherent periodic structures observed in stretched polymers after W-laser ablation is developed. The geometries, periods, and times of formation of structures are calculated as a function of laser-light intensity, laser-induced temperature, and external or frozen in stresses. The theoretical results are in good agreement with experimental data obtained with nanosecond and subpicosecond laser pulses.
