摘要
Neutron scattering measurements have been made on SmMn2Ge2 characterised by AC susceptibility. The structure of all three magnetic states have been identified and a buckled magnetic structure is observed in the low temperature ferromagnetic and in the anti-ferromagnetic states. Changes in this structure reflect anisotropic changes in the lattice constants and provide an explanation of the giant magnetoresistance.
