Role of transverse velocity-shear on collisional drift-wave instability in magnetized plasmas

摘要
The effect of sheared poloidal flow on collisional drift-wave instability of magnetized plasma is studied. It is shown that transverse flow shear considerably reduced the growth of the instability. A: finite but small amount of viscosity completely stabilized the mode. (C) 2001 American Institute of Physics. [DOI: 10.1063/1.1331096].
