Osteochondritis dissecans of the humeral capitellum - Diagnosis and treatment

This article presents the history of osteochondritis dissecans; of the elbow and traditional diagnosis and treatment. Use of more recent technology such as MR imaging with and without contrast is incorporated into the diagnostic work-up based on current available literature. Treatment is discussed in tight of history clinical examination, and radiograph and MR imaging findings. Discussion regarding surgical intervention includes traditional and more recent techniques including arthroscopy, osteochondral fragment fixation, and resurfacing techniques.
