Effects of quenching and annealing on the high-temperature magnetic properties of rapidly quenched Au80Fe20 alloy

摘要
Rapidly quenched Au80Fe20 ribbons and platelets exhibit a dominant paramagnetic response above room temperature; the ordering paramagnetic units are clusters of highly correlated spins. Annealing enhances spin clusterization and brings about the precipitation of a small fraction (0.5%) of interacting Fe nanoparticles, with a radius of 3 nm and an average interparticle distance of 50 nm.
