Structural and magnetic transformations in Fe-rich fine Fe-Mn particles

摘要
Investigations of the structure and the Mossbauer spectra for fine Fe-Mn(32 wt.%) and Fe-Mn(34.65 wt.%) particles with a diameter from 7 to 15 nm produced by the ''gas evaporation'' technique have been performed. Unlike the bulk alloys of the same composition having a fee structure and being antiferromagnetic, the fine particles show a bcc ferromagnetic phase conserving the character of the local magnetic order of the high temperature fcc phase.
