Femoral stress fractures

This article focuses on fatigue fractures of the femur, the fourth most common site of stress fractures in athletes. Femoral shah stress fractures have excellent healing potential when diagnosed early and treated nonoperatively. Given the increasing interest in physical fitness over the past two decades, it important for the sports medicine physician to understand the origin, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of these injuries.
