摘要：

The three major syndromes of pelvic floor dysfunction-urinary incontinence, anal incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse-are considered with respect to their prevalence, incidence, and remission. The natural history and development of pelvic floor dysfunction, including potential areas for prevention strategies, are also considered.
