Supercritical fluid extraction of sulfonylureas from aqueous matrices

摘要
Extraction of sulfonylurea herbicides (thermally labile and moderately polar compounds) from aqueous matrices using a dynamic SFE system and supercritical carbon dioxide has been investigated. The results show the effect of varying typical SFE variable parameters such as co-solvent choice and composition, as well as pressure on the extraction efficiency. In addition, comparison studies demonstrating a significant extraction efficiency enhancement using "salting-out" techniques with aqueous matrices are also presented along with a suggested theoretical mechanism. High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) with UV detection was used to determine extraction efficiency. The following optimum operating conditions: 10 % acetonitrile, 20 % sodium chloride, 4500 psi and 60 degrees C, provide extraction results of 90 (+/- 10) %.
