Calorimetry of ordering and disordering in AuCu alloys

摘要
Ordering and disordering transitions in AuCu alloys were studied under annealing and rapidly solidification. The samples were analyzed using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Both processes were diffusive at low temperature and provided a measurable heat flow in wide temperature ranges. The transition from AuCuI to AuCuII occurred above 385 degrees Celsius where the existence of nucleation barrier was inferred from the change in shape of the DSC trace.
