Diastereospecific ion pairs consisting of isospecific transition-metal cations and syndiospecific main-group anions promote what is termed amphicatalytic polymerization of MMA, producing PMMA with isotactic-b-syndiotactic stereomultiblock microstructures. Copyright © 2003 American Chemical Society.
