摘要
A review on applications of hyperpolarized xenon in biology was presented. Large nuclear spin polarizations for 129Xe and 3He was found to be produced through the transfer of angular momentum from circularly polarized laser light to the nuclear spins of these noble gases. These gases were referred to as 'hyperpolarized gases' as the nuclear spin polarization created was far from the equilibrium Boltzmann polarization.
