摘要
Computer models of anaerobic treatment processes may be used to optimize performance and provide better process control. These models require the experimental determination of large numbers of kinetic constants, a time consuming and expensive process. However, it may be expected that not all kinetic constants will affect model output to the same extent. The kinetic constants that have the most significant effect on model output can be determined using 2-level fractional factorial design and the computer model. for the system of interest. The methodology to perform the fractional factorial analysis is developed in this paper and then evaluated using a computer model for the anaerobic sequencing batch reactor. The most significant kinetic parameters for the model are identified and found to be a function of both the chosen, model response variable examined and the operating strategy considered.
