摘要
Ductile fractures in high strength steels progress by void nucleation, growth, and linking by either coalescence or sheeting. The actual void spallation distribution is desired for improved predictions of void growth and coalescence behavior, and ductile failure behavior in general. The use of synchrotron-based, X-ray computed microtomography (XCMT) to image voids in situ is used to study their spatial distribution.
