Electrical conductivity and electronic structure of potassium doped PTCDA

摘要
Electric conductivity and ultraviolet photoelectron spectra (UPS) of potassium doped 3,4,9,10-perylenetetracarboxylic dianhydride (PTCDA) were measured. The conductivity of potassium doped PTCDA film jumps up to 0.1 Scm(-1) from around 106 Scm(-1) of pristine one. Potassium doping to PTCDA also brings change in the upper valence band UPS; spectral onset moves closer to the Fermi level (E-F). These phenomena can be attributed to electron transfer from potassium to PTCDA, which is confirmed by MNDO molecular orbital calculation.
