This summary represents the current consensus of opinions of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Working Group. We review here the current state of knowledge in comparing capsule endoscopy (CE) to other small-bowel imaging modalities. We address the challenges in studying CE in Crohn's, and propose a design for a prospective study comparing CE to traditional diagnostic techniques, as well as other potential IBD studies. © Georg Thieme Verlag KG Stuttgart · New York.
