Synthesis and conductivity of tritungstovanadoselenic heteropoly acid

摘要
Tungstovanadoselenic heteropoly acid H7SeW9V3O40. 23H(2)O has been synthesized by the stepwise acidification and the stepwise addition of solutions of the component elements to a hot solution of sodium tungstate. The product was characterized by chemical analysis, potentiometric titration, IR, UV, XRD and TG-DTA. The determination of conductivity shows that tritungstovanadoselenic acid is an excellent high-proton conductor. Its conductivity is 6.25 X 10(-4) S(.)cm(-1) at room temperature (18 degreesC). The dependence of proton conductivity on the hydration number has been investigated. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
