摘要
Recovery (RV) and recrystallization (RX) are described with emphasis on their microstructural basis, their relationship and their dynamics during concurrent deformation. Subgrain formation and growth are main recovery processes. The kinetics of dynamic subgrain growth is formulated. The distribution of subgrain misorientations theta dependending on strain, stress, and stacking fault energy is of prime importance for RX: as high theta subgrain boundaries relax into mobile large angle grain boundaries. The mechanisms of discontinuous RX by nucleation and growth of new grains involving long range grain boundary migration, continuous RX by conversion of subgrain into relaxed grain boundaries, and geometric dynamic RX by grain boundary recombination are briefly discussed. The relation between the sizes of the recrystallized grains and the subgrains of the deformed structure depends on the mechanism of RX.
