A new stimuli-responsive supramolceular system has been established based on the inclusion complex of boronic acid-modified amylose with iodine When iodine was mixed with the boronic acid-modified amylose in water, it encapsulated iodine within the helical cavity of amylose The encapsulated iodine was dissociated from the amylose cavity by the addition of polyhydroxy compounds, and the process could be conveniently monitored by distinct color changes
