摘要
The flavonoid profiles of the two species of Pterostemon are identical and consist of C-glucosylflavones and 3-O-glycosides of quercetin. The C-glucosylflavone pattern resembles very closely that observed in Itea. The presence of C-glucosylflavones in these two genera provides additional support for the closeness of their relationship, which had been discussed in the literature and recently demonstrated on the basis of gene sequence data. In contrast, saxifragaceae, Crassulaceae, and other members of the Saxifragales clade, to which Itea and Pterostemon belong, are characterized by flavonol production. The results are interpreted as a replacement of flavonols by C-glycosylflavones in Itea and Pterostemon. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
