摘要
There is concern that AIDS dementia complex (ADC) may be complicated by Alzheimer disease (AD). Because AD presence and risk are related to CSF beta-amyloid((1-42)) (A beta 42), total tau (t-tau), and phosphorylated tau (p-tau), the authors examined these in ADC, AD, and controls. ADC had significantly decreased CSF A beta 42 and increased t-tau and p-tau concentrations similar to AD, suggesting that ADC may be associated with AD or an AD-like process.
