Infrared and visible emission of Pr3+, Eu3+, Yb3+/Er3+ in Ca4Gd(BO3)3O (GdCOB)

摘要
In the present study, several luminescent ions are incorporated in the Ca4Gd(BO3)(3)O (GdCOB) matrix. Structural perturbation is evidenced by the D-5(0)-->F-7(0) emission of Eu3+ ions. The non-radiative multiphonon deexcitation is evaluated by measuring the lifetimes of different ions. Europium and praseodymium are used as potential red phosphors and erbium for 1.55 mu m eye-safe laser oscillation. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
