Equilibrium chain dynamics in magnetic fluids

摘要
Dilute ferrofluid dispersions with marginal stability (strong dipolar interactions) should contain an equilibrium population of dipolar chains. We present dynamic light scattering data for such dispersion in the wave-vector range of 3-30 mum(-1). The data show a bimodal structure, consisting of a normal diffusion mode, compatible with single particle size and an anomalous diffusion mode, compatible with polymer behavior.
