Simulation of convective mass transfer in a solar distillation process

In this communication, an attempt has been made to develop a modified Nusselt number for a trapezoidal cavity, which can be used for evaluation of convective mass transfer in a solar distillation process. The modified expression has been obtained by regression analysis using experimental data and from Simulations for different environment conditions. It is observed that there is a reasonable agreement between experimental observations and theoretical results calculated by the modified Nusselt number expression for a higher operating temperature range (greater than or equal to 60 degrees C).
