摘要
New interpretation of geochemical data for gangue and ore minerals at the Pine Point Mississippi Valley-type ore district constrains the sulphide precipitation mechanism and the conceptual models for the ore-district flow system. Fluid inclusion homogenization temperatures and salinities along with signatures of epigenetic hydrothermal carbonates at Pine Point show a distinctive shift in chemical character of the parent fluid between the regional flowpath and the ore deposit site. Water-rock ratio modelling and parent fluid salinities indicate that a second, more saline, O-18-enriched brine, mixed with Presqu'ile barrier fluids near Pine Point and initiated ore precipitation.
