Impurity diffusion of scandium in aluminum

摘要
The impurity diffusion coefficients of Sc in aluminum single crystals between 813 K and 928 K were determined using serial-sectioning method and Se-44m (t(1/2)=2.11x10(5)s) prepared by a photonuclear reaction. The temperature dependence of the impurity diffusivity is expressed by: D=5.31x10(-4)exp(-173 kJ mol(-1)/RT) m(2)s(-1). The results are compared with those of other transition elements in aluminum.
