摘要：

The species composition of aquatic insects in the boreal stream, Skiftesaa, was investigated using emergence traps, Malaise traps and kick samples. At least 13 Ephemeroptera, 16 Plecoptera, 25 Trichoptera and 120 Chironomidae species were recorded. This fauna is representative for non-polluted, northern streams. The production of macrobenthos was estimated to be only about 1 g dry weight per year and m(2), possibly due to the fluctuating flow of water.
