摘要
The development of the IGISOL technique since its earliest beginnings al the University of Jyvaskyla in the early '80s is reviewed. The processes involved in ion survival in the ion guide are discussed. The design and performance of ion guides for different types of reactions is summarised. The mass-separated beam quality for different skimmer systems is compared.
