摘要
Pseudo-static analysis, in which seismic force is replaced by a static-equivalent force, has been widely used for structural designs. This approach is adopted for seismic stability analysis in the current study. The proposed procedure determines the seismic factor of safety against sliding along a joint plane. The formulation is then used to calculate yield acceleration and permanent displacement of the rock mass subject to random seismic excitations. Extension of the procedure to wedge sliding analysis is also included.; A pseudo-static procedure is introduced for assessing the seismic stability of a rock mass which slides along a joint plane or along the line of intersection of the joint planes, as a result of earthquake excitation or blasting. The procedure is illustrated using an 'example slope'. The effects of seismic coefficient on stability and permanent displacement are addressed.
