Magnetic susceptibility of the one-dimensional polymeric phase of RbC60

Derailed magnetic susceptibility measurements of the RbC60 polymeric phase have been carried our. A decrease in the susceptibility on cooling below 50 K consistent with the temperature dependence of the electron spin resonance intensity hitherto reported has been observed. It has been shown that this temperature dependence can be interpreted in terms of the spin density wave scenario in a consistent manner and that the density of states at the Fermi level can be estimated as 11.9 states/(eV C-60(-)) This value is in reasonable agreement with 8 states/(eV C-60(-)) estimated by the tight-binding band structure calculation.
