Low-energy excitations in high-temperature superconductors

摘要
This paper reports that many metals undergo a phase transition at some low critical temperature and become superconductors. In these materials, it is shown that the superconducting ground state gains binding energy as a result of the pairing. This phenomenon was explained in the BCS (Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer) theory in terms of the coupling of electrons into Cooper pairs.
