摘要
TiO2 amorphous film doped with gold nanoparticles was fabricated by alternating rf-sputtering method under vacuum condition. The nonlinear optical response was investigated by the optically heterodyne optical Kerr effect (OHD-OKE) and pump-probe methods at a wavelength of 780 nm with a laser pulse of 130 fs. The values of real and imaginary part of chi((3)) were determined to be about 10(-8) esu with the wavelength close to the surface plasmon absorption peak. The time-resolved OKE and pump-probe results suggest that the main physical mechanism involved in the large nonlinear birefringence and dichroism of the Au:TiO2 composite films stems mainly from the hot electron contributions.
