Thermal instability caused by plasma-wall coupling

摘要
Both analytical study and numerical modeling show that the interactions of plasma with the first wall saturated with hydrogen can cause thermal instability resulting in massive desorption of gas from the wall. In a tokamak it can lead to the formation of multifaceted asymmetric radiation from the edge (MARFE), detachment, or even disruption. (c) 2006 American Institute of Physics.
