Improved performance of mesoporous zeolite single crystals in catalytic cracking and isomerization of n-hexadecane

Mesoporous zeolite single-crystal catalysts exhibit the hitherto most pronounced activity enhancement over conventional zeolite catalysts in slurry-phase catalytic cracking and isomerization of n-hexadecane. This improved performance of both pure and Pt-loaded mesoporous MFI single crystals is attributed to enhanced mass transport via the extended non-crystallographic intracrystalline mesopores to and from active sites located inside the zeolite micropores.
