Comment on 'Evidence for a Fe-related defect centre in diamond'

摘要
Recently, we have characterized the 1.789 eV photoluminescence (PL) centre in diamond grown by a high-pressure high-temperature technique (Iakoubovskii K and Adriaenssens G J 2002 J. Phys.: Condens. Matter 14 L95). In this communication, we demonstrate that this PL centre most probably originates not from a point defect in diamond, but from crystalline Al2O3:Cr3+, (ruby) inclusions in diamond.
